ANONYMIZED PROJECT / MARKET RESEARCH

Mapping a Competitive Landscape

Connecting products, channels and brand communication to understand how a category is structured.

ANALYTICAL TAKEAWAY / ANONYMIZED

Positioning emerges across the offer, the channel and the message.

A product list captures only part of the competitive picture. Looking at product breadth, retail presence and communication together provides a fuller basis for discussing how brands differ.

My contribution

Competitive research, synthesis and positioning analysis using public product information, retail listings, websites and brand communication.

Scope & evidence

An anonymized overview of a historical category study. Internal proposals, launch plans and commercial recommendations are withheld. No implemented positioning change or business result is claimed.

THE PROJECT

A historical research project in imaging accessories, developed through a review of public product information, retail listings, brand websites and communication channels.

A competitor list is only the beginning. This project looked across the product offer, retail presence and brand experience to create a more useful view of the category.

01

THE RESEARCH QUESTION

What distinguishes brands beyond the product itself?

The research examined how different competitors presented their offer, addressed audiences and built a presence across channels. The aim was to organize those differences into a coherent market view.

02

THE APPROACH

Use the same research lenses across the category

Public product catalogues, retail listings, websites and social content were reviewed using a consistent framework. Product breadth, price positioning, channel presence and communication style were considered together.

RESEARCH LENS / 01

What does each brand bring to the category?

Compare publicly listed product categories, use cases and the breadth of the offer.

03

THE OUTPUT

Turn comparison into a clearer strategic discussion

The resulting analysis connected category structure with positioning questions. This public-facing summary focuses on research methods. Internal product proposals, launch sequences, commercial assumptions and recommendations are excluded.

An anonymized methodology overview. Confidential data, counterparties and internal plans are omitted. Business impact is not quantified in this summary.
